Designed to help small and midsized businesses meet rigorous public and private-sector procurement standards, this initiative promotes scalability and compliance.

Interagency Mentor Protégé Program (IMPP)

Developing Strategic Relationships for Sustainable Growth

IMPP pairs emerging historically underutilized businesses with experienced agencies and prime contractors to build long-term relationships and improve MWBE competitiveness.

Program applications are accepted typically in March, with the 10-week program beginning in May each year.

Contractor Safety Record Policy

Harris County is committed to promoting safety and accountability in all County-funded construction and maintenance projects. The Contractor Safety Record Policy ensures that contractors performing work for the County maintain a history of responsible safety practices and demonstrate a commitment to protecting the health and well-being of workers and the public.

Harris County's Department of Economic Equity and Opportunity (DEEO) is committed to supporting the growth and success of small, minority-, and women-owned businesses. Through our one-on-one business consultations, you’ll receive personalized guidance from a DEEO Program Manager to help you navigate County processes, access resources, and build capacity.

These free 20-minute sessions are tailored to meet your specific business needs. Whether you're new to doing business with the County or looking to expand your reach, our team is here to help.

Consultations are available in English and Spanish. Please indicate your language preference when booking your appointment.
